FAQ
What does iGameLib do for my users (players)?
iGameLib is a full-featured high score library. It allows your users to track their high scores, and compare them to other people on the Internet. They can compete against their friends, and just other people online. This will keep them playing your game!
What does iGameLib do for me (the developer)?
Most simply, iGameLib will allow you to track high scores without having to worry about server-side support. You don’t have to develop a server-side high score system, and you can put your game on any server without having to worry if it supports the right database or scripting language.
While iGameLib tracks high scores, it also tracks how long the users spend on each game. This information is then collate, and in an upcoming version of iGameLib, you the developer will be able to browse statistics on your user base which isn’t available from standard web analytics software (like google analytics).
For example, iGameLib can tell you how many games people play each visit. It can tell you the length of the average game, and how long the typical person spends playing (not just with the page up in a browser).
Why do I see high scores that didn’t come from my game?
By default, you will share the high score database with all other developers who are also using the default API. If you want to have your own dedicated high score database, please contact me by leaving a comment somewhere on this blog, or else register your iPhone game with iGiki (http://www.iGiki.com).
